I got a chance to photograph a woman who uses marijuana for medicinal use. Medical marijuana is a controversial subject, but as an objective reporter we have to see every side of the story. Kris Kidd has a medical marijuana prescription she uses for her chronic pain. She really breaks a lot of the stereotypes that are assumed with marijuana users. Most people thing the legalization of marijuana would lead to a whole bunch of people stoned all the time losing their mind.

After meeting with Kris, she gives such a different viewpoint to those who truly benefit from the use of marijuana. When she uses it, it allows her to function; it allows her to go out and operate in the world without pain. In fact, she actually worries about the legalization of marijuana. Right now, she is able to get a quality prescription that is suited for her pain. If it becomes legal, she worries it might causes prices to be inflated as well as quality to go unmonitored because of it's ease of growth. Right now, under a prescription, it is very safe for her to use. Kris gives a new viewpoint to the every growing controversy, and a unique story about this hot topic.

Kris Kidd pulls out her prescription drugs that she takes everyday and it legal to use all of them, which she says is quite scary to think about when she uses medical marijuana, which for others is illegal. (Jason Halley/Chico Enterprise-Record)
